Why Nabat

Crystals that form as it cools.

Inspired by Nabat, a traditional Persian rock candy celebrated for its vibrant colors and crystalline beauty, this glazed brick collection translates the rich flavors and cultural influences of Central Asia and the Middle East into a distinctive architectural material palette.

Nabat the candy is made by boiling sugar syrup and allowing large crystals to form during the cooling process, often captured on a stick or string. It is often paired with tea and adds unique flavors to the hot beverage.

Nabat the glazed brick has a similar construct. Reactive glazes are fired at a porcelain level temperature to melt the glazes on the brick surface. As the glazes cool and crystallize, unique patterns form. Each brick tells its own story, never to be duplicated.

Made in the USA. All raw materials and processes are sourced and produced in the USA.

The brick

One brick, twenty four glazes.

Nabat 2x8

A glazed ceramic brick in a 2x8 format, with the softened edges and shifting glaze depth that come of firing in small batches. Laid in a running bond or stacked, it gives a wall quiet movement rather than a flat field of color.

Material truth

Rustic Elegance

Rough and refined at the same time. A handcrafted edge where no two pieces are exactly alike. Reactive glazes that crystallize as they cool, in twenty four colorways.

It is not a marketing phrase. It is a material truth. Far from perfect, and that is the whole point.
