Brick, glazed
Glazed Brick Veneer
A wire cut brick face, 5/8 inch thick, under a wet glaze.
Cutting the brick with a wire leaves a dragged, open face, and that face is the reason this reads as brick and not as a rectangular tile. The glaze catches on every drag mark and settles into the pull of it. Fifty glazes are made for it, from the near black to the near white, and the range runs through greens, blues and clay reds in between. It comes as a field piece, a wrapped corner and a grooved face, set on a 3/8 inch joint.
