At Whole Foods in Malibu, ARTO's handcrafted Oleson 12" Square ceramic tile in a Leather glaze wraps the store's cafe and prepared food counters. The rich brown squares are set with light grout on the half walls below the counters, around a small standing table with stools, and on the end panels near the coffee shelves. The same tile runs as a low base along a long blue wall, adding warmth against the polished concrete floor. Up close, the glaze moves from deep chocolate to copper with darker clouding at the edges, so no two tiles look quite alike, and the counters feel crafted rather than store-bought.
