Westfield Topanga Mall

The concourse floors at Westfield Topanga are paved with custom 8" concrete tile made by ARTO in Charcoal, with a decorative terrazzo-style finish and a custom grooved texture. Each square is split into triangles, some smooth and flecked with light aggregate, others cut with fine parallel grooves. Laid together, the triangles form a shifting geometric pattern that runs from the escalator court and lounge seating to storefront entries and the elevator lobby. The dark gray tone holds up to heavy foot traffic, and the grooves catch the skylight differently through the day, adding quiet movement to a large, open public space.
