The Story
On a street-front building in Monrovia, ARTO tile adds texture and color at sidewalk level. Tall panels of Corona 7x7, a handcrafted dimensional concrete tile in Early Gray, are set into the white walls between the storefront windows. Each tile carries overlapping circles in soft relief, and together they form a field of rounded shapes that shift with the sun across the day. Below, a wainscot of Studio 4x4 ceramic tile in Black and Blue wraps the base of the facade and around the corners. The glaze moves from deep slate blue to warm bronze from tile to tile, giving a durable, easy-to-clean base a hand-glazed depth that sets off the pale concrete panels above.
