At this Spanish-style villa in Santa Monica, handcrafted Artillo concrete tile in Cotto Gold ties the whole backyard together. Under the pergola and the covered patio, the floor moves between Artillo Arabesque Pattern 5A, Pattern 5B and Hexagon tile, all in the same warm terracotta tone. Wide Cotto Gold stair treads lead up from the garden gate, with patterned deco tiles in blue, green and cream set into the risers. The same treads and pool coping cap the spa, where a band of decos runs along the wall above blue tile at the water. A matching deco panel frames the outdoor grill. The soft, sun-faded color of the concrete sits easily against white stucco, dark wood and green planting.
