At the Ojai Valley Inn, ARTO's handcrafted concrete tile paves the courtyards, terraces and paths of this Spanish Colonial resort. Most of the outdoor spaces are laid in the San Felipe shape in Normandy Cream, a rounded, lantern-like form whose color ranges from terracotta and rust to honey and soft brown. It runs across lounge courtyards, a fire pit terrace facing the mountains, the courtyard bar, the pub patio, the spa entrance and up garden stairs, tying the whole property together with the white stucco walls and clay tile roofs. In a shaded cabana lounge, the smaller Artillo Arabesque Pattern 8C in the same color adds a finer pattern underfoot. The pitted, time-worn surface gives the grounds the feel of old Spanish courtyards.
