Los Vientos Apartments

At Los Vientos Apartments, ARTO's handcrafted decorative tiles add a line of color to a Spanish-style facade. A narrow band of deep blue and white decos, pattern SD112B, caps each window across the cream stucco walls, from the upper floors down to the windows just above the red clay tile roofs. Repeated across several stories, the small bands give the building a steady rhythm and pick up the color of the clear sky, while the terracotta-red base and tile roofs keep the look warm. Up close, the hand-painted glaze shows a classic repeating motif framed by solid blue borders, a simple detail that brings a sense of craft to the whole elevation.
