Kenwood Inn and Spa, Sonoma

At the Kenwood Inn and Spa in Sonoma wine country, ARTO's handcrafted concrete tile runs through the inn's outdoor spaces. Balcony walkways, private patios and guest-room entries are laid in the Roman pattern, a mix of rectangles and squares in Normandy Cream with a Limestone texture. The surface shifts from rose and terracotta to soft gray and sand, with a pitted, stone-like face that sits naturally against the cream plaster walls, green shutters and wrought iron furniture. The same tile wraps the exterior stairs, where full treads climb past a wall fountain and up narrow stairways lined with iron handrails. Up close, each piece shows its own blend of color, giving the inn's terraces the warm, aged look of an old Mediterranean villa.
