Indian Wells Residence

This Indian Wells home uses ARTO's hand-painted deco tile in two sizes, both in a crisp black and cream palette. In the bathroom, a narrow run of 4-inch decos frames the large vanity mirror and follows the arched alcove of the dressing table, then drops down as a single band above the marble counter. The repeating floral motif reads like a carved border against the soft plaster walls and warm wood cabinetry. In a nearby bar nook, 6-inch decos cover the full backsplash between the upper cabinets and the counter. Set edge to edge, the individual tiles join into a continuous lattice of star and petal shapes, giving a small space a strong, graphic presence while keeping to the same restrained colors as the bath.
