Hotel Erwin, Venice

In the restrooms at Hotel Erwin, ARTO's handcrafted Rings decorative tile gives plain white walls a graphic edge. Each glazed tile carries concentric circles in black, gray and white, and set side by side they form a continuous pattern of overlapping rings. The tile wraps the urinal wall floor to ceiling and runs as a wide band along the long trough sink, where chrome faucets and bell-shaped sconces stand out against it. Classic white subway tile fills the rest of the room, and exposed wood beams and steel stall partitions round out the clean, industrial look. Up close, the hand-glazed lines show slight variations from tile to tile.
