The Story
The grand entry stairs at Groth Winery are clad in ARTO's handcrafted Artillo concrete tile in Spanish Cotto. Wide flights rise toward the winery's arched doors and curved gable, flanked by balustrades, lamp posts and a salmon-pink plaster facade. Each tread is finished with a rounded nosing, and the square tiles shift from rosy terracotta to deep brown, giving the steps the warm, varied look of old fired clay. The same tile continues across the landings, so the whole staircase reads as one piece. Under the bright Napa sun, the rich tones of the concrete echo the color of the building and the vineyard setting around it.
