Glendale Garden Hardscape

Designed by June Scott Design, this Glendale garden uses ARTO's handcrafted Artillo concrete tile in a 4x12 size with a limestone finish, laid in herringbone throughout. The pattern begins under a timber pergola, where it forms an outdoor living room around a fire table, then carries on along the front walk, up the entry steps and onto the landing beneath an arched doorway. A soldier course frames the edges, and the steps change to larger square tiles for the treads. Off to the side, panels of the same tile become stepping pads through the planting, and a herringbone apron runs in front of the garage. The tiles show a warm mix of rose, clay and soft brown tones, with the gentle pitting and worn edges of a hand-finished surface.
