Frost Bath

This bath is built around a wooden soaking tub set on a tiled platform. ARTO's handcrafted Studio ceramic tile in 6x6 wraps the lower walls in Monrovia Red, a deep brick red glaze with a soft sheen, mixed with a lighter blonde tone. Above it runs a band of hand-painted 6x6 deco tiles in green, black, cream and red geometric patterns, including Buckle, Compton and Cubic designs. On the floor the red and blonde tiles are set on the diagonal in a checkerboard that continues from the tub into the shower behind a glass block wall. The tile stops at wainscot height, leaving plain plaster walls above, and a wood dresser vanity and framed art complete the room.
