El Segundo Front Walkway

At this El Segundo home, a curving front walkway winds from the street through a planted garden and under a white stucco arch to the front door. The path is laid in ARTO's handcrafted Artillo 12x12 concrete tile in Hacienda Flash, a pale sandy tone washed with soft peach and blush. Set on the diagonal with gray grout, the squares follow the walkway's sweeping curve, while a straight-laid row finishes the edge at the step. Close-up views show the gentle flashing within each tile, which keeps the large surface from looking flat. Low flowering plants in yellow, pink and purple spill over the edges, and the warm tile ties the garden to the white walls, iron lanterns and wood door of the house.
