Cottage Garden, Long Beach

In this Long Beach cottage garden, ARTO's handcrafted Artillo concrete tile forms every path, patio and step. Curving walkways in Arabesque shapes wind between flower beds, lavender and fruit trees, opening onto small sitting areas with a birdbath, a fringed umbrella and wicker furniture. Two patterns are used: Roman 8C in Bone and Arabesque Pattern 11B in Normandy Cream, soft, warm neutrals that pick up dappled light through the leaves. The paving carries on through a picket gate to the front walk, up the steps to a pink Dutch door, and across the drive by the garage. The handmade surface and gentle color shifts help the stone-like paths settle into the planting as if they have always been there.
