The Story
In this Berkeley home, one tile shape ties two very different floors together. A long hallway is laid in ARTO's Artillo Arabesque Pattern 2C, the classic star-and-cross design, in handcrafted concrete in Normandy Cream with a Vintage texture. The surface shows a rich mix of warm browns, rust and smoky gray, with a pitted, time-worn character that suits a passage of wood doors and white walls. Next door, the bathroom floor uses the same 2C pattern in Studio ceramic glazed Pure White, bright and crisp beside a white vanity and teal wall tile. Where the two rooms meet, the stars and crosses run straight from one material into the other, so the rustic hallway and the light bathroom share one continuous pattern.
