Glendale City College Lobby

In the lobby of Glendale City College, ARTO's handcrafted Scirocco 4x4 ceramic tile in Gray wraps the elevator cores and the walls around each floor's drinking fountains. The glaze reads as a deep gray-brown, with soft color shifts and pillowed edges on every tile, set against bright white walls, terrazzo floors and teal steel columns. Inside each fountain niche, a panel of handpainted 4x4 deco tile adds pattern: rings and circles on some floors, star shapes on others, in muted gray, rose and blue-green tones. Near the restrooms, Scirocco tile in Turquoise covers a wall in a pale, watery blue. The tile gives the busy public spaces warmth and texture at eye level.
