The Story
The grounds of the Tijuana Mexico Temple are paved in ARTO's handcrafted Artillo concrete tile in Spanish Cotto. Large square tiles cover the open plazas, fountain courts and garden walks, laid on the diagonal and in straight runs between lawns, planters and rows of palms. The warm rose and terracotta tones of the tile echo the cream walls and tiled roofs of the surrounding buildings and set off the white temple at the end of the gardens. In a smaller courtyard near the arched doors, Artillo Arabesque Pattern 5B tile in the same color circles a stone fountain, its curved shapes adding softness underfoot. Each tile shows gentle color variation, from pale blush to deeper clay.
