Echo Park Residence, Los Angeles

This Echo Park home uses ARTO tile on its outdoor balconies and in a bathroom. One covered balcony is floored in handcrafted Artillo Picket tile in Charcoal, its long pointed shapes set in a staggered run that leads out to a cable railing and down to wood steps. Two more balconies open off the house through tall wood-framed doors: one is laid with Studio 4" Hexagon and the other with Studio 8" Conche, a scalloped fan shape. Both use a mix of glazes in slate blue, teal, soft gray and sand, so the floors read like a quiet patchwork. Inside, the bathroom floor is a dark Italian Porcelain hexagon mosaic in Nero Mix, paired with light wood cabinetry and a glass-walled tub.
