Cadman House, Los Feliz

This Los Feliz home uses two very different tiles inside and out. The living room fireplace is clad from hearth to ceiling in ARTO's 3D Buckle tile, 6x6 handcrafted concrete in Natural Gray. Each tile's raised, rounded relief catches light from the windows and the fire, turning the tall chimney breast into a textured sculpture, and the same tile covers the raised hearth below a simple wood mantel. Outside, the entry landing and a sunny deck are paved in an 8x8 tile with a gray and white Kasbah star pattern. The pattern continues up the face of the outdoor kitchen, so floor and counter read as one surface, framed by planters, a black railing and views of the trees.
