Belle Isle Library, Oklahoma City

Belle Isle Library in Oklahoma City is wrapped in ARTO's handcrafted 2x8 Glazed Brick in three bold glazes. Each part of the building has its own color: a deep orange Sunset, a leafy Guacamole green and a cool Real Teal, set in a vertical stack bond and paired with rough stone walls and large panes of glass. Small square windows are scattered across the brick like a pattern of light. The Sunset brick continues inside the entry lobby, where tall orange walls frame the glass doors and a staircase. Up close, every brick shows a slightly uneven, glossy glaze with shifts of tone from piece to piece, so the walls look rich and alive in both sun and shade.
